Still reeling from a wild week at @sideshowhootenanny in New Orleans

A full week of shows, workshops, late-night shenanigans, fire, clowns, pasties, sword swallowing, and all the glorious weirdness that makes this community. It's fantastical so much.

As always, I barely took any photos. I was too busy being flabbergasted, inspired, and laughing until I cried with this phenomenal family of carnies I somehow tripped into (both literally and figuratively).

My heart is full and I'm so thankful to be accepted among these folks.

It's nice to check things off my list.
I already have plans for organizing next year to be a bit more manageable on time. The go go go can get overwhelming, and it breaks into my practice routines.

An update
Some of you already know

The day before I left for Denver, a vehicle hit my house.
A few important things: no one was injured, we’re fine, and the kitties are safe.

All things considered, it was the best case scenario. Nothing structurally important was damaged, everything can be replaced or repaired. The drivers stayed for police reports and had insurance, and our insurance guy has been way kewl so far.
Also, @strangewitchdoctor has been awesome handling everything while I was away.

Today I’m finishing the damages list, which includes some of my circus gear, specifically my stilts and aerial rig. I think my stilts are okay (I HOPE they are 😅). I’ve inspected them and haven’t spotted anything concerning.

But my rig took a direct hit. And I don’t play that game when it comes to aerial safety. I’m requesting a replacement. I’m nervous it won’t be covered, but I’m ready to get back to training once my season wraps up.

That’s really it. Just needed to vent a little. The process has been surprisingly smooth, but between gigs, travel, and catching up on everyday life stuff… it’s been a whirlwind.
